Facilities and resources

We have had a refurbishment in school, now offering a D.T room and KS2 spaces.

We have invested money in new laptops, science equipment, sports equipment, play equipment and other resources to ensure your child has the best experiences when learning here.

Expert KS2 teachers

We have recruited strong and inspiring KS2 teachers who have an expert knowledge and understanding of the KS2 curriculum.  They work closely with the Year 2 teachers to ensure a smooth transition.

Specialised Teachers

We are proud to offer specialised Forest School, music and sports teachers to ensure that your child has quality learning. This is all adapted to meet the requirements of the KS2 curriculum.

We work closely with ICS Sports and are planning Heartwood sports teams in the future, including a Heartwood football  and netball teams.

Independence

As our children grow throughout the school we increase and encourage independence, giving the children more responsibility and ownership, we understand this is important. Heartwood Ambassadors are recruited pupils to support the running of the school.

Preparing them for the next stage of Education

Our curriculum is carefully planned 'building blocks' that are preparing the children for the next stage in their education journey. We build on prior knowledge, skills and vocabulary which has been taught and look ahead to what content follows, so KS3 for our KS2 children. 

We are building partnerships with TNHA to plan a smooth transition for our children. We have future plans for the children to experience going to the school throughout KS2, take part in cluster events and for TNHA teachers to deliver sessions in our school. Our exciting curriculum ‘Making a Difference’ prepares children for their next stage in their education and future careers.
